Candy Wreathes

Tootsie Roll Candy Wreath With Snowflake Ribbon

Candy wreathes are fun to make and fun to get as a gift!

I love to see my candy wreathe receipients' eyes lite up!

I take a wire clothes hanger, and wrap some cardboard

around it to give me a flat surface to work with.

Then, I use a hot glue gun and glue on the candy.

Add a ribbon, just for a little more fun!

(Other directions say to tie all of that candy onto the wire clothes hanger, but I couldn't get it to work.

Here's another idea for making a candy wreathe.)

Thrifty Christmas Decorations

Paper snowflakes are at the top of our Christmas decoration list!

Even the older kids love this family Christmas tradition.

You can make simple snowflakes; like the ones above, or get a little fancy; like the ones below.

We hang our snowflakes from the living room ceiling.

Our inside snow storm is always a conversation piece with company!

Popcorn Balls

One of our family's Christmas traditions is making popcorn balls to hang on the tree.

Of course, they don't stay on the tree for long!

Want a quick and easy recipe for popcorn balls?

You know how difficult it is to make Rice Krispie treats?  ;-)

Yup, it's that easy!

Melt butter into a pan, and add marshmallows

Stir in some food coloring just for fun.

Pour over popped popcorn.

Butter hands, and make balls

Wrap in Saran Wrap, put a string around it, and hang on the tree.

See how long it hangs there!

Walmart

Wow, Walmart is really jumping on the Strategic Shopping band wagaon this Christmas season. They have just released information on their new Christmas Price Guarantee. If an item you have purchased goes on sale between the purchase date and Christmas either at Walmart or another competitor, they will give you the difference between what you paid and the cost of the item! So if you paid $15 for that new Disney Princess doll in November and Target put it on sale for $7 in December, just show Walmart the ad and your receipt and they will give you $8 on a gift card.
Here are the rules that apply:
  • Purchases must be made between November 1st and December 25th
  • You must bring both your receipt and the competitor ad to receive the price match
  • Black Friday and internet prices are excluded
  • If your items are on layaway, they will lower the price of the items for you

Thank you, Couponing to Disney!

Warning!! This Post is About Christmas!

I love Christmas time!  I believe that one of the best things that we can do for our children is to

make memories.  I want my kids to look back on their childhoods and smile.

Well, Christmas doesn’t just happen around here.  It takes a lot of work on momma’s part!
(Do I hear any AMENS???)

With that said, have you started your holiday dinner box?

I have a box in the pantry that says, "Holiday dinners: Stay out!"

Planning out great memories for Christmas takes a some organization and planning ahead!

Pick up a couple of cans of corn or some canned pumpkin this week.  Actually, make a list of the

non-perishable food items that you will need in order to have the Thanksgiving and Christmas

dinners that you desire.  Keep that list in your purse and each week grab something off from it.

Hey, let’s make some great memories this holiday season!
