Getting More for Less - Part Four
Start implementing Walgreen's register reward program so you can start getting paid to shop!
I like to take my allotted grocery money and buy food on sale, using both manufacturer coupons, store coupons, and offering register rewards. Then, I use those RR to buy non-food items, like toilet paper, shampoo, dish detergent, etc. (I use my change purse to cover the tax money.)

Are you ready to email some companies for some coupons?
I suggest that you open up a separate email account that you
can use for emailing for coupons, doing surveys, etc.

Writing emails is the best way to request coupons from manufacturers.
It's quick, easy and there's no postage!
I LOVE to get coupons in my mailbox.
Don't be afraid to give these companies your phone number. This just shows that
you are legitimate. (I have never had a company call me.)
Some of the companies respond to my email with a big, fat NO, but I don't let
that discourage me. The YESes far outweigh the NOs.

Here's an example of one of my recent Walgreens trips:
I already had a $3.50 register reward.
Walgreens was offering Witch Hazel for $4.00 with a $4.00 reward.
I used my $3.50 reward on this purchase, so I paid 50 cents, and got a $4.00 reward back. (MONEY MAKER!)
I bought some anti-itch cream marked at $5.00 with a $5.00 reward back.
I used the $4.00 reward, so I paid $1.00, and got a $5.00 reward back. (MONEY MAKER!)
I bought some contact lens solution marked at $7.99 with an $8.00 reward. I used the $5.00 reward, so I paid $2.99, and received $8.00 back. (MONEY MAKER!)

Are you writing to companies and requesting coupons?
This is the best way to get coupons without any money going out on your part!
1. Go to the website of your choice
2. Find the 'contact us' button (Either at the very top, or the very bottom; many times it's very tiny print.)
3. Be sincere in your request; for example:
"My family really enjoys your products (or would like to try your products). Could you please send me some coupons. Thank you for your time."
That's it! Time to wait for the mailman!

For example: An item may cost you $4.00 with a $4.00 register reward.
That means, you will pay the $4.00, but you will receive $4.00 right back to spend at Walgreens.
If you have a coupon, then you would pay less than $4.00, but you would still get the $4.00 reward back, making this transaction a money maker!

Getting More for Less - Part One
Shopping at Walgreens can get you more things for less money once you
start implementing their register rewards program. Register rewards are
catalina coupons. Each store has coined their own phrase for catalinas.
Rite Aid calls them +UPRewards; CVS calls them Extra Care Bucks, and Walgreens
calls them Register Rewards (RR).
When I ask people if they know what catalinas are, they usually say no, but I tell them they probably do know what they are. After you pay for your stuff at most grocery stores, the clerk gives you back your change and receipt, then beside the register, there's a little box that spits out coupons for you. Those are catalinas. They are typically manufacturer coupons, but they can be store coupons.
The Walgreens catalinas - RR - can be used for basically anything in the store, which is why I call them my Walgreens money. There are a few exceptions: you can't buy prescription drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and stuff like that.
You can buy shampoo, over-the-counter medicine, detergents, diapers, toilet paper, groceries, and on and on.
