Shopping at Walgreens can get you more things for less money once you
start implementing their register rewards program. Register rewards are
catalina coupons. Each store has coined their own phrase for catalinas.
Rite Aid calls them +UPRewards; CVS calls them Extra Care Bucks, and Walgreens
calls them Register Rewards (RR).
When I ask people if they know what
catalinas are, they usually say no, but I tell them they probably do know what
they are. After you pay for your stuff at most grocery stores, the clerk gives
you back your change and receipt, then beside the register, there's a little box
that spits out coupons for you. Those are catalinas. They are typically
manufacturer coupons, but they can be store coupons.
The Walgreens
catalinas - RR - can be used for basically anything in the store, which is why I
call them my Walgreens money. There are a few exceptions: you can't buy prescription drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and stuff like that.
You can buy shampoo, over-the-counter medicine, detergents, diapers, toilet paper, groceries, and on and on.
