When you make your next kettle of sauce, add an extra can of tomato paste to it.
Just one or two extra cans will seriously stretch your sauce to more than you need.
So, why would you want more than you need?
Take a minute and figure out how much money it cost to make a regular pot of sauce.
Now, how much does it cost for one or two cans of tomato paste?
I have a large kettle of sauce simmering in the kitchen right now.
Yes, it's more than we need.
We are having spaghetti for dinner today. Tomorrow, we will eat any leftover spaghetti.
But, before we eat all of that spaghetti, I will take out some of that sauce and set it aside.
Once you add in your beans, that sauce is going to grow into a big kettle of chili.
You can either serve the chili within the next few days, or throw it into the freezer to have available later. (LOVE freezer cooking!)
