Popcorn Balls

One of our family's Christmas traditions is making popcorn balls to hang on the tree.

Of course, they don't stay on the tree for long!

Want a quick and easy recipe for popcorn balls?

You know how difficult it is to make Rice Krispie treats?  ;-)

Yup, it's that easy!

Melt butter into a pan, and add marshmallows

Stir in some food coloring just for fun.

Pour over popped popcorn.

Butter hands, and make balls

Wrap in Saran Wrap, put a string around it, and hang on the tree.

See how long it hangs there!

Popcorn

thpopcorn.jpg image by lightfootfan1

Popcorn makes a great snack for a mega family like mine, but we can go through A LOT of microwave popcorn bags in one setting!

I tried switching over to making our own on the stove and using the air popcorn popper, but we ended up spending a small fortune on the butter that was melted and put on top!

To solve this dilemma, I pop a couple of bags of buttered popcorn in the microwave and mix it up with some popcorn from the air popper.

(Another great idea is to mix in a box or two of carmel corn.)

Of course, let's not forget to use coupons!

Mix in Kool-Aid (Just for fun!)

Butter hands and dig in!

I'm making mini-popcorn balls, wrapping in plastic wrap and hiding around the house with some other goodies!
