Aldi

Every Wednesday, Aldi has a 'meat of the week' promotion.

They mark one meat product down, but it's only for that day.

This Wednesday, Fresh Boneless Chicken Breasts Jumbo Pack, $1.69/lb.

(Aldi does NOT accept coupons.)

Cheap Meat from the Butcher Shop

I like to buy my meat from our local butcher shop.
Pictured above is an arm of beef.
This is about 23 pounds of totally boneless meat!

It costs about $3.50 a pound!

In the picture below you can see the stacks of steaks,
roasts, and stewing meat that I cut up myself.

(If you haven't ever cut up your own meat, then be sure
and cut against the meat's grain.  If you aren't sure what
I'm talking about, then ask your butcher to show you how
because if you cut with the grain, the meat will be too
tough to chew.)

Meat Market

I prefer to buy my meat at a meat market.

First of all, the meat looks its natural color rather than the

bleached meat you get in supermarkets.

Second, the taste FAR exceeds anything you can get in the grocery store!

And third, the PRICES are the BEST!

I buy arms of beef every few months.  They come in one slab of BONELESS beef,

which weighs between 30 to 50 pounds.

I cut the meat into small roasts, large roasts, thick and thin steaks, small steaks, large steaks and stewing meat.

I really like being able to cut it into whatever my family prefers.

The price just went UP to $3.00 a pound!

I also got hamburger at $2.75 a pound!
